MEET ZEYNA
My Beginnings
I was born in Alexandria, Virginia and was taught that serving where the need is greatest is the truest form of service. Growing up in the heart of Chicago with my mom, stepdad, and two sisters, education was always the focus of my life.
Education
I put my fiscally responsible skills towards earning my Business degree from the University of Kansas. As I prioritized being a wife, a mother, working on my degree, caring for my ailing mother, I was also providing for my family. I held a position in budgets and grants administration at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
My Family
Our family chose to move to Arizona for our younger children’s education. We chose Chandler and the Chandler Unified School District to raise our family. It was evident that education was my heart’s endeavor. I continued my education as I earned my Education Masters from Arizona State University in 2014. I have dedicated my 10-years of teaching to where the need is greatest. I have been sharing my love of learning as a teacher for seven years at Blackwater Community School with the Gila River Indian Community.
My husband Val and I have been married for 25 years. We share our love of family with our four children and four grandchildren. We are proud parents of two CUSD students. I continue to dedicate my life to serving where the need is greatest.
